A group of vampires flat-share in What We Do in the Shadows, the funniest vampire movie since Twilight.
This 2014 mockumentary drains great comedy from the day-to-day logistics of being a vampire (or werewolf), making it an honest Interview with a Vampire, not unlike The Trap’s boring vampire.
Starring, written and directed by Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement, it’s like an undead Flight of the Conchords (Bite of the Conchords?), and also features Rhys Darby as a werewolf.
Once again, the New Zealand accent’s comic rhythms are hilarious, combined with vampire accents that end up sounding like Arnold Schwarzenegger (“Get owt of da sunlight!”).
Essentially a Hammer Horror sitcom, this horror/comedy delights with its immortality hilarity. This is cold-blooded comedy with a pulse.
